The total cost of the current program is $15,800.00 There are absolutely no hidden fees at Ravensberg College. Unlike a number of other Private Career Colleges our total cost includes everything; tuition, special certifications, uniforms, even your books!
Can I apply for a Student Loan to help pay my tuition?
Absolutely. We suggest you apply at least 6 weeks prior to the start date of the program as the process may be lengthy. click here for financial aid section.
How long is the program?
The Law Enforcement Foundations program is an accelerated 2 year diploma which is carried out over 13 months. Cadets attend classes Monday – Thursday from 8:45am – 4pm. During the course of your Diploma you will undergo 7 weeks of on the job training.
Is the Law Enforcement Foundations program recognized by the Canadian Armed Forces?
Can I apply to Military Police with a diploma from Ravensberg College?
Yes. Our program has gone through a lengthy approval process by the Nova Scotia Department of Education and the Department of National Defence. Law Enforcement Foundations at Ravensberg College qualifies as a prerequisite for entrance into the Military Police.
If I take a “Law Enforcement” program from Ravensberg College or Holland College can I go straight into the Halifax Regional Police or RCMP?
No institution, including Ravensberg College and Holland College can guarantee employment in any Police Department or other Law Enforcement agency. Halifax Regional Police and the RCMP have a strict hiring process and additional training if you are successful in gaining employment.
At Ravensberg College we will give you all the tools necessary to be very competitive in the hiring process and additional skills that will set you apart during your recruit training.
To begin the program you need to have a doctor clear you for physical activity. Once in the program each Cadet is giving a personalized fitness program to bring everyone up to a similar fitness level. Our Physical Training is carried out in a professional and safe manner that will not only prepare you for your career in Law Enforcement but give you the tools you need for life long fitness.
Why do I need a criminal records check?
In order to qualify for a number of Law Enforcement occupations you will need to go through a criminal records check. It is better to deal with this matter before you begin training.
Is it possible to get into the program if my High School marks are not great?
High School marks are not always a good indicator of intelligence or ability in the work force. We look at each potential cadet in all aspects of their life both personal and academic. Speaking with a recruiter is your best source of information regarding standards for acceptance.
Can I visit the College and observe or take part in a class?
Yes. You must call and make arrangements through a school official.
